Porcelain documents one day in January 2017, where we as a family entered a hospital in Surrey on a cold, grey morning after an emergency call with news we'd feared. In the hospital cafe, an old school friend spotted me and happily bounded over. She'd just had a baby, I'd just lost my Dad. One life ends, another begins.
